Here at DoCSoc, it’s our mission to give you the best university experience ever! To keep you on your toes, we run tons of tech talks from the likes of Facebook, Bloomberg, Google, Palantir, and more. In the past we’ve hosted talks and workshops centred around machine learning, blockchain technology and sentiment analysis, to name a few examples. We also host workshops centred around learning particular technologies such as Docker or React Native. There's our flagship annual hackathon, IC Hack, where the best creators from Imperial and beyond gather to build some really, really cool tech all in 24 hours. In the past we’ve spiced up the hacker experience by ordering Nando’s, hosting midnight pizza, giving out waffles and crepes and even hosting karaoke sessions! It's not all about ones and zeroes though. We organise a whole bunch of social events throughout the year like theatre trips, cinema trips, ice skating, trampolining and more. We also host our own yearly club night, Revel, along with our traditional black-tie End Of Year Dinner. And on top of all of those, who could forget our legendary bar nights at the Union? All these events are subsidised a HUGE amount, so they’re ultra affordable! DoCSoc is run by DoC students, for DoC students (and for anyone interested in computing!), all to make your time at Imperial as enjoyable and rewarding as we can. Get involved!
