ICU Belly Dancing Society is a fun and active club, whose primary aim is to teach the beautiful art of belly dance. This traditional Middle Eastern dance form involves learning how to move parts of the body, in particular the hips and chest, independently in an elegant dance. Belly dance is a great way to work out the entire body, boost your self confidence and meet new friends! Alongside classes we organise plenty of socials including our xmas dinner, and outings to belly dance shows around London. We run classes every week accommodating complete beginners to those who have been belly dancing for years. So don't worry if you've never belly danced or even danced before, our beginners classes are for you! We offer the opportunity to perform to all of our members; typically taking part in 5-6 performances each year, as well as hosting our very own showcase at the end of the spring term! Throughout the year we also host workshops with different styles of belly dance and props such as swords, canes and veils! If you have any questions about belly dancing at Imperial, please don't hesitate to drop us a line at our email or via any of our social media channels (see our linktree)!
