University College London (UCL)
navigation.about
The UCL Fencing Club offers the opportunity to fence in the most diverse Club of the Student's Union, whether you just want to try it on a whim or have been fencing for years. We welcome absolutely anyone to join with a dedicated novice training programme running throughout the year on Wednesdays. For the more competitive fencer we offer the opportunity to try out for one our four highly successful BUCS teams as well as numerous domestic and international student tournaments. The expensive costs of buying your own fencing kit looms over every student, however our Club provides access to borrowing our kit for competitions and even for weekly training. Our fencing activities don't end there! We host the annual London International Universities Fencing (LIUF) competition open to all university fencers including our own and this gives most of our own fencers the chance to showcase their progress. Our social calendar too gives members lots to look forward to. Aside from the weekly Wednesday socials, we host joint socials with other Clubs (both within UCL and beyond), charity pub quizzes and activities such as bowling. The highlight of the year is our Christmas Dinner held in December, giving everyone the opportunity to get out of their whites and dress up! The year ends with an exciting Alumni match vs our current teams and an Alumni dinner. With top-class coaching and a membership fee that’s hard to beat, we’re one of the friendliest and best value fencing clubs in central London! For more information, visit our brand new website, join our group on Facebook or follow us on Instagram and Twitter.
