Join us as part of the largest student-led holistic development and social responsibility movement in the world! Global Brigades is an international non-profit organisation that connects volunteers and under-resourced communities to resolve health and economic disparities.
Set up in late 2009, the Global Brigades society at LSE aims to send LSE students to Central America and Africa during the term breaks to participate in brigade programmes directly correlated to the subjects they study at university, such as working on Business Empowerment and Legal Empowerment.
For instance, in the last few years we have organised summer brigades to Panama and Honduras, where students have helped build economic opportunities for people in under-resourced communities. Our society operates within a global network of over 110 university chapters that collaboratively work towards an equal world - meaning you will also get to meet people from all over the world whilst on your trip! Global Brigades also proudly partners with Deloitte to increase impact on our Business Brigades in particular.
Join us for the unique opportunity to understand how you can have an impact using skills and knowledge directly from your degree, and embark on an adventure with friends, old and new, on what promises to be a truly memorable experience.
MEMBERSHIP Purchasing this membership will give you full access to the member-only socials and dedicated fundraising events we'll be holding throughout the year!
This includes all of Global Brigades' volunteering resources, so there are no hidden costs - as a member, we can keep you in the loop about all things GB through our newsletter.
You'll have the change to meet plenty of like-minded, fun people, who are also passionate about having an impact, and many of these will become your friends for life, leaving you with university memories like no other. We can't wait to meet all of you!
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES Over the course of the year, we get to know each other through monthly socials doing fun things like Ping Pong, eating out, getting a drink together in Tuns and more. This allows you to become friendly with one another before you fly half way across the world together!
We also hold fundraising events together - these can be as frequent or infrequent as your schedule allows, as each individual is responsible for meeting their own fundraising target, and of course, we're here to support you with reaching that goal every step of the way!
