"Inspiring you to create a change you believe in.”
The UCL Green Economy Society was established in 2010 with three core goals:
- Increase awareness of sustainable development where green economy is the determining driver.
- Offer a platform for multidisciplinary discussion of green economy issues.
- Introduce students to careers in the environmental jobs sector as well as firms who believe strongly in the concept of sustainability.
Our Vision
We want to inspire and enable students to become part of the future green economy. We will aim to achieve this through acting as a platform for varied opinions across disciplines and different segments of society ranging from government, to corporate, to community, to the individual. In doing so, we can inspire students to form their own vision of a green economy and imagine their own place within it. Throughout the year our activities include:
- Lectures, panel discussions and workshops from a wide range of speakers including industry professionals, environmental consultants, academics, entrepreneurs, researchers, policy-makers and project leaders
- Sustainability related problem-solving student-pitches in cooperation with UCL’s Sustainability Team to improve sustainability around campus and to allow students to engage in sustainability related real-life challenges
- Sustainability-related social activities such as visits to exhibitions, film screenings, and volunteering opportunities and Vegan burger socials at FlowerBurger.
We welcome students from all academic disciplines with a common interest in environmental sustainability. Join us to find out more!Follow us on Facebook to get updates on our upcoming events!
