The LSESU Green Finance Society is the sole sustainable finance-focused society at LSE. Our mission is to encourage greater consideration of environmental risks in financial decision-making and to equip LSE students with the skills and background knowledge required in this field. United by a shared vision of a climate-secure and sustainable future, our international membership pool represents a mix of engaged undergraduate and postgraduate students.
OUR AIMS
Educate - Improve the knowledge and understanding of green finance of our members, providing them with practical and targeted knowledge through periodic newsletters and weekly crash-crosses.
Engage - Ensure our members are well informed of the latest trends and opportunities in green finance through monthly events with industry professionals.
Act - Empower our members to act, allowing them to apply their knowledge and develop their investment skills with our proprietary investment fund.
We host a range of events including panel sessions with professionals, industry crash courses, socials and our flagship event - The Sustainable Finance Conference.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
Industry crash courses: Educational workshops on the principles of green finance, ESG criteria, green equities and green bonds.
Panel events: Career panels with green finance professionals that provide members with valuable industry insights and nuances in the emerging field.
Socials: Fun, informal sessions where our members get to know one another and make life long friendships (eg. potlucks, movie nights, ice skating sessions).
Sustainable Finance Conference: Our two-day long flagship event consisting of panel discussions with industry professionals (last year, we had speakers from WWF, HSBC, Carbon Trust and other prestigious organisations), networking sessions and an engaging case study challenge.
