The Literary Society is open to all students enrolled at King's and our core vision is to enrich, nourish and support our members in seeking new and exciting ways of visualising literary production. We truly believe that your voice matters, that your experience as a reader and as an individual matters in helping to shape an open global dialogue. We embrace conversation, challenge convention and deepen connections. Whether you are studying a traditional literature pathway at King's, or are just wish to supplement your degree with your love of literature, Lit Soc is the place for you! Throughout the year, we organise social and literary events to suit a variety of interests. These will range from casual events like pub/ coffee and cake socials to spoken word nights, theatre visits, screenings and Q&A panels with learned experts on compelling questions. This year, we are also underway with organising a Fitzgerald-Esque Gatsby Ball: so dust off your black tie dinner wear, brush up on the Charleston and Foxtrot and try to not be succumbed by the inevitable anxiety and void of our culture of hyper-consumption. Keep an eye out on our Social Media pages for more opportunities and events! We produce two theatrical performances per semester. These plays are open to all students and allow anyone interested to get involved in direction, production or acting alongside their studies.
