navigation.about
Ever since our very first broadcast in 2009, KCL Radio has grown beyond just a station - we are a family with a shared passion for music. We feature a diverse range of shows, and every aspect is run by our students - from presenting, producing to operations and administration as part of the committee. This year we celebrate 15 years of success, featuring brand new equipment and new automation software, revolutionising our broadcasting capabilities!
KCL Radio runs several large-scale outside broadcasts each year: sports events such as the London Varsity, and coverage from gigs and festivals. We hold socials for members and freshers, and even raised money for Comic Relief in 2023 by completing a 24-hour continuous live broadcast.
Despite these brilliant achievements, KCL Radio remains an environment in where you can learn the ins and outs of broadcasting. Anyone can undertake a training programme covering presenting, technology and production. Once trained, hosts go on to produce and present shows on the station, and in many cases join our friendly and flourishing KCL Radio committee.
Past members have gone on to work for broadcasting giants like the BBC, SRA, Global & Bauer. With our associations, we can offer conferences and masterclasses throughout the year with industry professionals to help our members improve their skillset and knowledge of the industry.
We are always on the lookout for new talent to join our exciting team, so get in touch to find out more, and how you can get involved, email us today: committee@kclradio.co.uk.
