Kung Fu

Welcome to IC Kung Fu, one of the oldest and most established martial arts clubs at Imperial. Our style is Wu Shu Kwan Chinese Kickboxing, a blend of ancient Chinese kung fu and western kickboxing. Join us to learn this unsurpassed method of complete self-defence, and build your strength, speed, accuracy, agility, flexibility, balance and coordination. Each class is 2 hours long and led by expert instructors. The first half an hour consists of warm-up and flexibility improvement through stretching. The next half an hour works on basic and advanced kung fu techniques that have been honed and developed over several centuries. Our style practices punches, kicks, elbows, knees, throws and effective blocks and counter attacks. Those who progress to black belt, will also practice weapons techniques. We apply these moves in forms and fixed sparring in preparation for gradings where we earn our belts. The class culminates in full-contact free-sparring under the supervision of seniors who will help you develop your technique and get you fighting-fit in no time! We are a fun, sociable and energetic club - all are welcome; no previous kung fu experience needed!
