Lamorna Society

A chill society which theme is to explore the connection between scent and emotion!!The society wants to explore the history and future of candles, which aren’t only a daily commodity that has been used since 200BC, but also a continuously evolving form of art and a topic of scientific discussion. To do this, there will be themed candle workshops, where all members can make a personalised candle that symbolises their time at UCL, and talks from professionals in the candle/perfume industry.The society also runs an online student magazine, published quarterly. The magazine will explore the history of candles, the relationship between scent and emotion, and make insights on the current research on olfaction. All students from UCL are eligible to submit their work, and any medium e.g. photography and poetry is welcomed.
