Welcome to UCL’s award winning Musical Theatre Society! We place inclusivity and the development of the individual at our core, and a passion for musical theatre regardless of ability. We prioritise the interests and well-being of our members above all, offering a wide variety of vibrant and exciting opportunities that help to develop skills and create long lasting friendships. So whether you want to perform, direct, conduct or design (and many more), we have something for you. Each academic year we put on shows in a variety of musical theatre genres, usually two large-scale productions and a multitude of smaller shows. Our two large-scale Bloomsbury shows this year are 'Rent' and 'My Land's Shore', with opportunities to produce our smaller-scale shows starting in term 1. It promises to be a very eventful year with our ever-popular socials and events; from quizzes and galas, to scavenger hunts and karaoke. We also offer a variety of non-auditioned opportunities for members including a choir and band - it is an excellent way to introduce yourself to the musical theatre genre and is open to everyone. Our workshops explore all aspects of musical theatre, from singing and dancing masterclasses for our budding performers, to production team workshops for our keen conductors and directors. Over the last year we have been privileged enough to work with West End leads from Hamilton, Wicked, &Juliet, alongside working with production industry professionals from leading institutions such as Mountview. We also foster strong relationships with other Arts societies at UCL (such as Jazz society and Stage Crew Society), and engage in a wide variety of activities with them. Explore our website and social media pages for access to all things musical theatre, including links to our previous work.
