navigation.about
Raincatcher Imperial is a non-profit making charity and is registered (number 1110696) with the Charity Commission, the regulator for charities in England and Wales.
We are a student-led organisation that aims to improve living conditions in developing countries through fundraising, innovation, research and an annual summer project. One of our recent projects involves collaboration with NGOs and charities both in Tanzania and the UK, to improve practical science education and skills in rural Tanzania and improve levels of sanitation and hygiene through the construction of latrines.
Being part of Raincatcher is an incredible experience where your research, communication, fundraising and project planning can have a meaningful impact on people’s lives in rural Tanzania as well as providing you with a completely new understanding of life in rural Africa. Just by getting involved with Raincatcher, you may find yourself learning how to set up a solar panel, teaching hydrogeology to a group of Tanzanians, communicating with Tanzanian officials from across the globe or maybe planning a big fundraising event at Imperial.
There will be something for you to get involved in, whatever your background or interests. We have four main sectors, Research, Education, Finance and Public Relations so there is plenty of scope for all backgrounds and levels of Imperial students and staff to get involved in.
