Our mission is to promote technological awareness and innovation in the goal of making the world a better place. Our motto: "Connect. Create. Collaborate." sits at the core of everything we do. By becoming a member, you'll stay on the bleeding edge of technology, learn from the best innovators of the world and gain valuable skills, knowledge, contacts and friendships that will be integral in a world increasingly driven by tech.Whether you've just joined UCL or have been around for a while; whether you're a complete beginner or a tech expert, you'll find a home in TechSoc - and with multiple events per week, 6 weekend-long hackathons, 6 bootcamp series, an accelerator program, a conference, a careers fair and a large portfolio of special initiatives, there's always something for everyone.Talks / Hackathons / Bootcamps / Socials / CareersOur events range from the small and specialised to the huge and open-to-all. We've previously hosted companies such as Google, Facebook, DeepMind and Bloomberg on topics ranging from quantum computing to being employee #1 in a highly successful tech startup. We host 6 tech bootcamp series on topics ranging from Web Design to Machine Learning for anyone that wants to get started, workshops for those wanting to develop their skills, and great parties for everyone to enjoy themselves. We also host a number of careers events with our sponsors to give you unique opportunities to network and secure internships and jobs.Of our most high-profile events are hackathons, competitive 24-hour sprints where you work with a team to create something awesome. If you think you’re not good enough for this, you’re wrong. Hackathons are all about learning, building something with your new knowledge, and sharing the result with others. You don’t have to be a coding pro to have fun, just an open mind and your best ideas. For the first time this year, TechSoc will be introducing our own Technology Conference on the very latest tech trends, a Technology Careers Fair where technology organizations meet technology inventors, a large attack-defense cybersecurity competition: the first of its kind in London, and a project accelerator for members to develop their ideas and projects with our support. We'll be providing dedicated infrastructure, promotion, expertise and a community of some of the most passitiate technologists in weekly development sprints with all the snacks and drinks you could ask for. We think hackers are most productive when they can spend most of their time hacking. Our goal is to create an environment where you can focus exclusively on getting your project up and running. We can't wait to see what you'll build! We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology. Carl SaganUCL Technology Society have signed the Zero Tolerance to Sexual Harassment Pledge. We endeavour to make everyone and anyone feel welcome and included in the tech community regardless of background or experience.
