Ukulele Society

King's College London (KCL)

University and ukulele, because there is simply no better combination. King's College London's Ukulele Society is the perfect place to learn the ukulele, or to continue playing if you are already familiar. We meet every week to play for a couple of hours - it's more Cee Lo Green ("F*** You" works so well on the ukulele!) than George Formby, we promise, and we play from an eclectic mix spanning every decade of music.  The ukulele offers everything - it's inexpensive, easy to learn, highly portable and guarantees a smile on everyone's face! What sorts of things do we do? We meet up to jam every week! We busk all around London. We play to raise money for charities. We have an annual TOUR! Previous tours have us playing with societies from across England,  across Europe (Dublin, Belfast, Paris, Barcelona), and our most recent tour took us and our ukes all the way over to Milan! Treat this as a short reprieve from the heady trials of your student life. Meeting Details:  We meet every Monday in term time, 6-8pm.  Check our Facebook page for the latest updates on how to join the sessions, dates and times: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kclukulele/ Collaborations and Performance Requests: We are always keen to meet new ukulele societies, and we are always interested in any new collaborations and performance requests. Please contact us on the email address above (kclukulele@gmail.com) and we will get back to you!
