The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul. – Alfred Austin Who we are: Bentham’s Farm is a tiny student-led farm created in 2012. We meet up on Saturday mornings in our space next to the tennis courts at Ifor Evans hall, 109 Camden road. However, you can access the space anytime to get out of the city. The farm is not only a society but a real community. We welcome everyone, with any level of gardening or farming ability! We believe that getting outside, your hands in the dirt, not only nurtures the soil but your mind and body as well. It’s not just about the plants and growing food. It’s about the peace and quiet of a green space and warm company. Our goals:Build Skills and Foster Confidence in Growing ActivitiesMaintain Green SpacesImprove Local BiodiversityProvide Local ProduceProvide Food Waste Composting Facilities and TrainingDevelop a Gardening CommunityDevelop an awareness of nature What we do:On a regular basis, we meet up to sow tiny seeds, sift earthly compost, enjoy homemade herbal tea, snack and bring back some produce back home. We don't always succeed in growing things, but sometimes it's more about the experience than anything else. Here is a link to our introduction video: https://vimeo.com/454169514Some future events and projects include:Online movie screenings and virtual farm events (tour, insect/animal spotting…)Music sessions and get-togethers at the farmTrips to discover other urban farmsCollaborations with nature-driven societiesDecorate your pot and bring your herbal plant home Poetry and readings at the farm We hope to see you soon! xxThe Bentham's Farm Community
