The University of Manchester Women in Business Society is a student-led society with the goal to empower and inspire women within all fields of business.

Inclusivity and empowerment are at the core of our values. That is why we drive forward a supportive network which leverages and enhances talent to excel on both professional and personal levels in the industry.

Through partnerships with both start-ups and corporate giants, the society organises careers and social networking events for its members and hosts inspiring talks from expert speakers trailblazing a path for women in the business industry.

Women In Business Society

Empowering and uplifting women and gender non-conforming individuals to excel in their professional ventures.

We are the largest business & finance society at the University of Manchester, and we pride ourselves on bringing together like-minded students and professionals in a practical and career-focused environment. The University of Manchester boasts one of the largest student bodies in the UK giving us extensive exposure to students across various degree backgrounds such as STEM, Business, and Economics. 
As one of the most active societies on campus, we run weekly meetings for our members and host various events such as trading simulations, stock pitch competitions and networking events

Our Investment Banking Club (IBC) consists of informative and interactive one-hour sessions every other week covering things from company valuation, mergers and Acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and more! We also advise students on how to complete successful applications for summer internships by providing mentoring and support. 

Our MUTIS Ethical Investment Fund (MEIF) aims to educate students about real-life investing while being a community where students learn and develop skills in investing together. The fund is led by our fund managers and overseen by the investment committee, including members of staff at the AMBS. MEIF provides students with hands-on experience in investing and running a portfolio. Every analyst receives training from our GMC. Students are given the opportunity to form connections with a network of peers possessing the same interest in investing. 

Finally, the third branch of MUTIS: The Global Markets Club (GMC) provides students with the invaluable opportunity to learn about fundamental concepts in global markets and connect with other students who also hope to pursue a carer in finance. Our bi-weekly hour long meetings allow students to learn about topics ranging from equities, securities, derivatives, foreign exchange markets, portfolio diversification and more! 

Members of MUTIS IBC and GMC go on to complete internships at distinguished companies like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Lazard, and more! 

Our IBC, GMC, and MEIF are open to students of all disciplines with an interest in finance.
