Requirements

  • To join us for an industrial trainee placement you must currently be at University or looking for a pre-university placement. You will have less than 12 months relevant experience and have a degree or are expected to achieve one in the following degree disciplines:
  • Internal Communications
  • Communications
  • Marketing
  • English
  • In your application you should be able to demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience
  • You’ll be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so a placement with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture. It’s also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.
  • We do not have a formal structure for our placements, so you can really make the role your own. The more you get involved and the more questions you ask, the more you will gain from your experience with us
  • As well as having one of the specific degrees listed above, we are looking for students with the following characteristics:
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail with the ability to demonstrate accurate news and content writing.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and the wider IC network.
  • Supporting the regional IC team as they partner with regional business areas on designing and implementing their IC plans, initiatives and engagement opportunities.
  • Identifying key messages and translate information into accessible content.
  • Communicating effectively, proactively, and collaboratively with different stakeholders, including executive, technical and creative teams
  • Supporting the implementation of our regional content strategy.
  • Editing and writing engaging and informative written communication (news pieces, email communications, toolkits/guidance documents) and high-quality presentation.
  • Being a brand champion; ensure all materials align with our brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Updating and maintaining relevant trackers to ensure that all initiatives are logged, all necessary approvals are obtained, and all communications go out in the right order and to deadline.
  • Working with the team to improve and embed communications processes across the region.
  • Monitoring feedback and review metrics to measure the impact of our communications activities.
  • Assisting with managing regional internal events (webinars, internal awards, forums, etc.), surveys, presentations, and videos.
