Requirements

  • To join us for an industrial trainee placement you must currently be at University or looking for a pre-university placement. You will be studying towards a degree in one of the following subjects:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical and Information Sciences
  • Instrumentation and Control Engineering
  • Any other electrical, instrumentation, control or automation engineering related degree

Responsibilities

  • On your placement you will undertake a wide range of EICA tasks, typically including:
  • Electrical power distribution design
  • Control system design
  • Research into potential solutions to clients’ engineering challenges
  • Arranging power supplies
  • Specifying local renewable and back-up generation systems
  • Developing plant layouts
  • Cabling and installation design
  • Instrumentation selection
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Lightning protection assessments
