Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision assists in providing technical support and advice in metallurgical/chemical testing and analysis at assigned site.
  • Assisting in reviewing new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
  • Assisting in metallurgical studies and conducts analyses
  • Preparing standard reports on metallurgical or process issues and assists in recommending appropriate action to resolve or correct issues
  • Assisting in evaluating and administering contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, State and Federal regulations applicable to area of assignment
  • Participating with operating and maintenance departments in problem solving efforts to improve safety, environment performance, productivity, and cost profile
  • Perform other duties as required
