What is the duration of the internship program?
The PIMCO Internship Program runs for 10 weeks, beginning in early/mid-June 2025.
What qualifications do I need to apply for the Trading Analyst Internship?
You must be an undergraduate currently pursuing a degree with an expected graduation date of December 2025 to June 2026, have a minimum 2:1 degree (or the equivalent), and have a field of study that provides exposure to financial/capital markets, economics, mathematics, engineering, or applied sciences.
Is prior experience in trading or finance required?
While prior experience in trading or finance is not explicitly required, a strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and investments, along with analytical and mathematical skills, is essential.
What skills are preferred for this internship?
Preferred skills include outstanding analytical and mathematical skills, proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, and/or VBA, and the ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
Will I receive training during the internship?
Yes, during the first week, interns will participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, which helps to provide the skills, knowledge, and relationships necessary for success.
How will the internship help in my career development?
Interns will receive guidance and mentorship throughout the summer, along with feedback at mid- and end-of-summer reviews to ensure they are on the path to meeting their goals. Successful interns may also have the opportunity to receive full-time job offers after graduation.
Are there opportunities for networking during the internship?
Yes, interns will join various cross-divisional education, networking, and social events throughout the internship.
