What is the duration of the UpLIFTED Women in Finance Development Programme?
The programme will run from the beginning of January 2025 to the end of April 2025.
Who is eligible to apply for the UpLIFTED programme?
To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in the UK, be a first-year student on a three-year degree or a second-year student on a four-year degree, self-identify as a woman, have a demonstrated passion for finance, and be able to attend regular mentor meetings and programme workshops.
Is there an application process for this programme?
Yes, the application process involves submitting your CV, completing a one-way video interview, and attending a virtual interview.
What benefits does the programme offer to participants?
The programme offers mentorship, access to targeted workshops, networking opportunities, and participation in a mini Spring Week event.
Are there specific topics covered in the programme?
Yes, topics may include Career Pathways Workshops, Leadership Speaker Series, Networking and Interview Workshops, Technical Skills Workshops, and Office Visits.
Will I receive mentorship during the programme?
Yes, participants will be assigned a mentor and will have regular 1-1 sessions with their mentors and Scotiabank career advisors.
Can I apply if I am studying a discipline outside of finance?
Yes, the programme is open to all undergraduate disciplines; however, you must demonstrate a passion for learning about finance and capital markets.
Is there a specific location for the programme?
The programme is based in London, England, but it is open to students across the UK.
Does the programme require participants to attend specific events?
Yes, participants are required to attend mentor meetings, workshops throughout the four-month programme, and a Spring Week during April 2025.
