Responsibilities

  • - Provides technical analyses and support for the actuarial function or department. Applies experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.
  • - The Actuarial Analyst working with the Product Portfolio team provides key technical actuarial assistance in completing and ensuring the integrity of RBCI’s Canadian Life & Health actuarial reporting requirements.
  • - Understand the relationship between the Business Units and Canadian Life & Health Actuarial with an emphasis on the Actuarial Aspects of reserving for Life & Health insurance products.
  • - Utilize data to develop advanced analytical models that allow a greater understanding of the costs, benefits, risks and opportunities inherent in Life & Health insurance products.
  • - Learn how to use GGY AXIS software to perform reserve quantifications and assist in month end production.
  • - Develop knowledge and recommend improvements to actuarial valuation process and models.
  • - Assist in IFRS17 valuation process and actuarial financial reporting.
  • - Assist with identifying and implementing improvements to actuarial valuation processes.
  • - Develop and maintain statistical models of valuation data.
  • - Perform experience studies (Lapse, Mortality/Morbidity) and communicate results to management.
  • - Assist in Year-end reporting, process improvements and other ad-hoc requests.
