Responsibilities

  • Research policy issues, draft documents to support our advocacy efforts, participate in team meetings and strategy discussions, collaborate in communications tactics, and engage in a support role for various remote and in-person events
  • Review upcoming state legislative committee meetings, identify where relevant bills or tracked bills will be discussed, attend committee meetings to share AARP MI’s support or opposition, and provide summaries of meetings
  • Identify upcoming legislative coffee hours and occasionally attend coffee hours
  • Support communications with our age-friendly communities by coordinating visits, responding to questions, and doing community outreach
  • Support the creation of presentations and presenting to potential age-friendly communities and occasionally attend age-friendly committee meetings
  • Attending local community events to do outreach and engagement with the general public
