Are you passionate about data science, eager to gain hands-on experience, and excited about building impactful tools? We are seeking a Data Science Intern to help design and develop a dashboard monitoring model performance. This dashboard will track individual scores and lift charts given by models built by our modeling team and generate alerts when there are significant changes in performance. This internship is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact project that will improve model reliability, gain experience with real-world machine learning workflows, and collaborate with experienced data scientists in a mission-driven environment. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Summer 2025.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing a model monitoring dashboard to track model scores, lift charts, and visualize key metrics
Implement an alerting system to detect and notify the team of significant performance changes
Integrate data pipelines to extract, process, and store model performance data efficiently
Collaborate with data scientists to refine requirements and ensure the dashboard meets operational needs
Document processes for dashboard setup, data flow, and alerting logic to support future maintenance
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as a graduate or post-doctoral student
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related STEM field
Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and analysis
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI) is a plus
Experience with a tool similar to Databricks will be a great plus
Understanding of machine learning model evaluation metrics and model performance monitoring
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on technical projects
Excellent communication and documentation skills to collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders
