Requirements

  • Essential Knowledge / Experience:
  • Working towards or completed Computer Science Degree or similar.
  • Proficiency in programming, particularly in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or PHP.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices for both creating and utilizing APIs.
  • Awareness of deploying applications on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Good communication skills with ability to work with multiple teams in a large organization.
  • Ability to keep track on multiple streams of work.
  • Desirable Knowledge / Experience:
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • CI/CD pipelines and tools like Gitlab, Azure DevOps for automating build, test and deployment processes.
  • Experience in Jira/Confluence Administration.
  • Working in a Higher Education environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.

Responsibilities

  • We are offering one fully paid 12-month internship to work in our Microservices team in the Applications Team in IT Services. The Applications Analyst intern will be supporting the Microservices Team primarily in assisting with assignments on an ongoing project. The project activities will involve a mix of troubleshooting service issues, custom new development activity in JavaScript/NodeJS, working on upgrades or patches following security audits, spinning up new environments, configuration of the build and deploy pipelines in in a Cloud platform. You will also be required to provide support assistance on various SaaS products being used on the project.
  • We will provide supervision and a supportive environment to help you get up to speed with the technologies and tools that we use in the team.
