What is the duration of the apprenticeship program?
The apprenticeship program is a 4-year program consisting of 7 phases, which includes 4 on-the-job training phases and 3 off-the-job training phases.
Where will I be working during my apprenticeship?
You will be based in Cork, working mainly in the Southern Counties of Ireland, with potential travel required to other sites.
What qualifications do I need to apply?
Applicants must have a minimum of grade D in 5 subjects in the Junior Cycle or Leaving Cert exam, including Maths and English, along with a full driving licence.
Is a colour vision test mandatory?
Yes, an applicant must pass the "Ishihara" Colour Vision Test 24 Plate Edition and submit the results with the appropriate SOLAS Colour Vision Application Form.
What skills are required for the Apprentice Pipe Fitter position?
Required skills include effective communication, proficiency in IT, strong organisational skills, team collaboration, a purpose-driven mindset, a customer-centric approach, and future-focused thinking.
What kind of training will I receive during the apprenticeship?
You will receive on-the-job guidance from experienced mentors, as well as on-the-job training in the installation and maintenance of pipework and mechanical equipment.
Is there room for advancement after completing the apprenticeship?
Yes, upon completion of the apprenticeship, there are many internal opportunities within the company, and previous apprentices have progressed to lead engineer positions with their own teams and projects.
What is the salary for this apprenticeship?
The starting salary for the apprenticeship is €14,255.28, with additional earning potential through overtime and travel time pay.
