Responsibilities

  • The position will report directly to a Manager within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and will offer a student work experience in their field of study. This experience will be valuable to a student as a means of allowing them to experience how their studies are applied in the “real world” by touching vulnerable citizens’ lives and making a difference.
  • In consultation with the Field Instructor, the Bachelor of Social Worker (BSW) Intern develops a learning contract that outlines the Core Competencies performance expectations, learning goals, methods of achievement, and standards of measurements in all the required areas. The BSW Intern meets on a weekly basis with the Field/Task Instructor to review field tasks and learn about the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) policies, protocols, and organization structure. The BSW Intern provides support to the Field DDD Support Coordination Unit and prepares for an entry-level generalist social work practice with the individuals, families, agencies, and communities.
