Requirements

  • Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands, the employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans ditches and culverts of brush, trash, and rubbish.
  • Trims overhanging branches and bushes.
  • Patches potholes with asphalt and repairs concrete sidewalks.
  • Picks up trash along roadways and rights-of-way.
  • Uses shovels, rakes, weed-eaters, and other equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate.
