What is the Graduate Researcher Program (GRP)?
The GRP is a unique 10-12 week internship program designed specifically for students pursuing their PhD, offering real-world industry work experience combined with development programming at Boeing.
When will the internship take place?
The internship is scheduled for the Summer of 2025.
What are the basic qualifications required for this internship?
Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks (12 weeks preferred) during the summer of 2025, have completed their first year of PhD studies by July 2025, and be pursuing a PhD in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
Is this position fully onsite?
Yes, this position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the specified locations.
Is prior experience with engineering and design software preferred?
Yes, experience with engineering and design software such as MatLab, Finite Element Analysis (Abaqus, LS-Dyna, etc.), and CAD/3D packages (NX, CATIA, etc.) is preferred.
What kind of work will interns be doing during the program?
Interns will be working on real-world industry challenges related to structural dynamics, loads, aeroelasticity, optimization, and mechanical systems design and analysis.
Will the internship contribute to my PhD thesis?
No, the work conducted at Boeing will not contribute to the work in your PhD thesis.
What are the travel requirements for this position?
The travel requirement for this position is 0 – 10%.
What is the expected pay range for this position?
The summary pay range for this position is $76,000 - $88,000, based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
