Requirements

  • Graduate student required; preference to students enrolled in a Master of Public Health program at an accredited college/university and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship
  • Must be a self-starter and adaptable, with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and data collection tools
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to design research to collect data
  • AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.

  • Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
  • Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate the delivery of the Taking Care of Me, Taking Care of You workshops at LCMC hospitals
  • Manage workshop collateral, branding, and external communications
  • Coordinate and engage the Volunteer Caregiving Team
  • Develop and implement a research project, collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Attend workshops
