  • Global mindset to grow in a diverse work environment.
  • Perform cell culture techniques to transfect cells, sort cells with flow cytometer, expand cells for production assay.
  • Use analytical equipment to evaluate the productivity, clonality and stability of the cell lines.
  • Responsible for analyzing data and reporting results in both a written and an oral format.
  • Give a formal presentation on her or his work at the conclusion of the summer project.
  • Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Currently authorized to work in the US (United States) without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.

Responsibilities

  • The Cell Line Development (CLD) group is responsible for producing cell lines that express clinical grade therapeutic proteins. The productivity, clonality and stability of these cell lines are evaluated extensively during the CLD process. Various approaches like Berkeley Light Beacon, Cytena Single Cell Printer and flow cytometer have been applied to generate single cell clones. After single cell derivation, clones are screened for high productivity and stability. The candidate will perform experiments to determine clonality and productivity of cell clones. She or he will help to explore new technologies to improve cell line productivity and stability.
  • The selected candidate will be guided by a scientist/senior research associate in the CLD group. The candidate will learn the CLD techniques like maintaining cells, sorting cells and screening clones for desired features. The candidate will be exposed to sophisticated equipment like Berkeley Light Beacon, Cytena Single Cell Printer, Canto flow cytometer and Octet, etc.

Mission & Purpose

We strive to transform lives. While the science we advance is constantly evolving, our core purpose is enduring. For more than two centuries, our values have guided us to do what’s right for patients and for society. We know that changing lives requires us to do things differently. We start by listening to and addressing what really matters to patients, the people who love them, and those in the healthcare system who provide care. And that’s what inspires us all to be bold, push boundaries and set new standards that open up greater opportunities.
