What is the duration of the Character Art Internship?
The approximate dates of the in-person internship are June 9th, 2025, to January 3rd, 2026.
What are the hours of work for the internship?
Interns must be able to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
Is housing provided for the internship?
The interns must provide their own housing during the internship program in the Orlando area, but there may be assistance with housing opportunities through American Campus Communities for Florida-based interns.
Are there any age requirements for applicants?
Yes, applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Is a portfolio required for application?
Yes, a portfolio review is required for this position. Applicants must include a URL link to their portfolio on their resume for full consideration.
What qualifications are required for the internship?
Applicants should have an understanding of graphic design, character art, or merchandise design, along with strong traditional and digital drawing skills, proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and a Bachelor’s degree in Art or Design.
What is the hourly pay for this internship?
The pay rate for this role in Florida is $22.00 per hour.
Are there any specific software skills required?
Yes, proficiency and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop are required.
Can individuals currently participating in another Disney Program apply?
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program participants may only work for one consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Will the internship involve teamwork?
Yes, candidates should be fresh and inventive creative thinkers with a proven ability to work strongly as part of a team.
