Requirements

  • Experience in student journalism or equivalent and a demonstrated passion for news and ideas
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented multi-taskers with a good attitude who are able to function in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and familiarity working with digital content management systems
  • Research and fact-checking skills
  • Proofreading or copyediting experience
  • Experience and comfort with relevant social media platforms (particularly Instagram and TikTok)
  • Previous digital writing/editing experience
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior undergrad Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)

Responsibilities

  • Research, fact checking, production of opinion articles in our digital content management system and associated use of social media
  • Independent research on topics/designated areas of interest for growth and audience engagement as directed by relevant members of the team
  • Contributions of story generation ideas at team meetings
  • Weekly mentorship check-ins
