Description

  • This Commercial Sales & Strategy Intern will be responsible for assisting in a variety of complex engagements throughout the course of a rigorous rotational curriculum. During this internship, the selected intern(s) will be supporting projects including, but not limited to, sales strategy, account management, and provider contracting. Intern(s) will have the ability to assist in instrumental initiatives that drive change and innovation in the healthcare space.
  • The Elevance Health Summer Internship Program is an immersive experience designed to provide students with real-life, challenging project work, improve business acumen, provide exposure to senior and executive leadership, and the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare industry! Interns will participate in career and professional development activities and networking events with other interns and associates.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an applicable program of study at an accredited college/university. Preferred majors include, but are not limited to; Business Administration, Business Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health
  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements
  • Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills
  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills

  • Supporting ongoing (listed below) and ad-hoc projects in tandem with Account Executives, Departmental Directors, and various other internal leaders

  • Ongoing Project Examples for this Internship:
  • Strategic/Data Analysis:
  • Reviewing provider and claims data to identify trends, opportunities for cost saving/reduction, and supporting analytics for enterprise/region – wide initiatives.
  • Sales Strategy:
  • Supporting Account Executives and Managers in their daily activities. This includes generating pertinent sales reports, proposal preparation, finalist presentations, and renewal strategy work
  • Sales Innovation:
  • Analyzing and reviewing our current products, program offerings, and digital capabilities to execute upon strategic recommendations for innovation in the Commercial New York plan. Recommendations will focus on driving down healthcare costs, consumer experience improvements, and healthcare network enhancements
