Community Engagement Intern - Fall 2024 - Pacers Sports & Entertainment

 Internship Term: Fall 2024 (September - December) 
 Internship Location: On-Site in Indianapolis, IN 
 Anticipated Time Commitment: approximately 40 hours per week 
 
 Pacers Sports &amp; Entertainment is seeking a highly motivated Community Engagement Intern to assist our Community Engagement team this fall. The overall focus will be on helping our Community Engagement team with event preparation and execution, as well as assisting with various office tasks and projects.  The Community Engagement Intern will work 40 hours per week, including select game nights and events. Due to the game and event schedule, the Community Engagement Intern must have the availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends. 
 
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 <ul>
 <li>Assist with general office duties and assistance to the Community Engagement staff: 
 <ul>
 <li>Complete data entry for all merchandise donation requests, including appropriate letters and items.</li> 
 <li>Assist with Pacers Pals and Fever Friends ticket program.</li> 
 <li>Assist with event preparation (i.e. good bags, bean bags, books, etc.)</li> 
 <li>Lead Community Engagement events (i.e. Reaching TimeOuts) as required.</li> 
 <li>Responsible for High Five Club at all Pacers and/or Fever home games.</li> 
 <li>Responsible for all Community Engagement mail (data entry, distribution, etc.)</li> 
 <li>Assist with storage organization.</li> 
 <li>Research other Community Engagement programs and initiatives.</li> 
 <li>Assist with Jr. Hoops Tour program including registration, data entry, participant follow-up, etc.</li> 
 <li>Participate and instruct in basketball camps and clinics as requested.</li> 
 <li>Attend Fever player appearances as requested.</li> 
 </ul></li>
 <li>Assist in the coordination and implementation of select community engagement programs.</li> 
 <li>Report on and research information pertaining to Community Engagement programming.</li> 
 <li>Attend Community Engagement and other staff meetings as required.</li> 
 <li>Provide input and suggestions at all Community Engagement staff meetings.</li> 
 <li>Assist other departments as requested.</li> 
 <li>Work Pacers and Fever games as requested.</li> 
 <li>Other duties and projects as assigned.</li> 
 </ul> 
 
 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
 <ul>
 <li>Enrolled in college or university program as a junior, senior, or graduate student.</li> 
 <li>Sports Administration, Community Engagement, or other related business majors preferred.</li> 
 <li>Coaching skills preferred.</li> 
 <li>Experience in special events planning.</li> 
 <li>Experience and knowledge of social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).</li> 
 <li>Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Experience with Salesforce preferred.</li> 
 <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li> 
 <li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and perform detail-oriented work.</li> 
 <li>Ability to meet deadlines.</li> 
 <li>Ability to speak in front of small or large groups, including children and adults).</li> 
 <li>Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.</li>
