What is the main goal of the Community Stock Generation Volunteer role?
The main goal is to encourage the local community to recycle their unwanted items by donating them to the British Heart Foundation shop, helping to fund lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases.
How many hours do I need to commit to volunteering?
Volunteering is flexible; you can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of hours occasionally.
Who can apply to be a volunteer?
We welcome volunteers aged 16 and over; however, we are unable to accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions.
What tasks will I be responsible for as a volunteer?
Typical tasks include promoting stock donation campaigns, giving out donation bags in the community, arranging collections of stock donations, contacting local businesses and hotels for surplus stock, and supporting stock donation events.
Is this position paid?
No, this is an unpaid voluntary position.
What benefits do volunteers receive?
Volunteers receive a 25% discount on donated goods and a 10% discount on new goods, unlimited free support from Retail Trust, access to training and development, reasonable travel expense reimbursement, refreshments, volunteer certificates, references, long service awards, and discounts with other retailers.

You will promote stock donation campaigns in your local shop, engage with the community, and collect surplus items from local businesses and hotels.
