Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university, be considered a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or postdoctoral student, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship
  • Pursuing a degree in fields related to communications and/or social justice
  • Interest in and passion for nonprofit fundraising
  • Personal experience with or in nonprofit fundraising is preferred but not required
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated individual who can determine and honor deadlines
  • Interest in securing justice for low-income older adults
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work on multiple projects with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Receive, track, and acknowledge donations to LCE
  • Provide logistical support for donor cultivation events and fundraisers
  • Track progress towards goals in individual and corporate fundraising campaigns
  • Conduct in-depth research on LCE donors and create briefs on these donors for LCE executives
  • Assist with LCE donor mailings
  • Ensure integrity of LCE donor data to ensure efficient and accurate donor communications
  • Support compliance with government and foundation grants
