What is the duration of the Diagnostic Radiographer apprenticeship?
The apprenticeship lasts for 18 months.
What qualifications are required to apply for this role?
Candidates must be a level 5 Assistant Practitioner qualified in working within Breast Imaging and meet the entry requirements for the Diagnostic Radiography bridging and top-up course at the University of Cumbria.
Where will the clinical training take place?
Clinical training will take place in the Radiology Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Will I receive financial support for study days and academic training?
Yes, expenses for study days and academic training will be reimbursed by the Trust in line with policy.
What happens after I complete my training and obtain HCPC registration?
After completion of training and HCPC registration, the secondment will cease, and you will resume working in Breast Imaging as a Mammographer, completing all in-house competencies required.

Main duties include undertaking X-ray examinations, justifying medical exposures, producing good quality diagnostic images, and maintaining a high standard of care for patients.
