Requirements

  • Proficiency with Associated Press writing style
  • Previous roles in Journalism, Public Relations, Media Relations or similar experience in writing/reporting and project management
  • Validated research skills and an understanding of how the news media works
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Confirmed ability to clearly and succinctly communicate ideas, both verbally and visually
  • A self-starter with proven initiative and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Be part of a team that celebrates diversity and inclusion
  • Motivated, positive attitude and a zeal for communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Verbal and written proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese
  • Video production experience
  • Visual storyteller with a basic knowledge of graphic design
  • Prove computer proficiency in a Mac environment
  • Previous experience as a Disney Cast Member
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or higher, or recent graduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Relations, Public Relations, Mass Communication or a related field
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Be aligned with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
  • The approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025.
  • Available to work FULL-TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the internship.
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.

Responsibilities

  • Support domestic and international PR efforts that target various media outlets including print, online, and broadcast. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responding to general media inquiries and assisting with media relationship management
  • Maintaining media contact and project databases
  • Crafting and maintaining coverage and project reports
  • Maintaining news media website and press materials archive
  • Leading news media asset library
  • Developing press event materials (i.e. media invitations, itineraries, and collateral)
  • Developing story angles and media pitches
  • Drafting various types of editorial content including news releases, fact sheets, and other media materials
  • Creating written and visual content for the Disney Parks Blog
  • Producing photos for editorial and social use and developing news-style photo captions
  • Conceptualizing and producing video content for broadcast and online channels
  • Assisting with planning and implementing media FAMs and press events
  • Coordinating media visits
  • Developing media amenities and department assets
  • Providing general administrative support
  • Assisting with special projects as needed
