Requirements

  • Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Passion for new theatrical works, especially musicals
  • Outstanding writing and proofreading skills
  • A friendly, collaborative spirit with passion for excellence
  • An understanding of the names and credits of established theater makers
  • A willingness to cover readings and shows outside of office hours (up to twice per week)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to read music
  • Education:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in theater, or related field, with an interest towards a career in producing, directing, creative development, or arts administration.
  • Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Position is located in New York City, NY
  • Additional Information:
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through August 2024
  • Must be able to work 40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm EST onsite
  • Must have housing and reliable transportation to/from work

Responsibilities

  • Support the department’s active slate of shows in different stages of development. This includes administrative tasks, research, and dramaturgical projects.
  • Contribute to the writing and editing process for published materials such as JR & KIDS Showkits. Giving to research and dramaturgical projects.
  • Track new works that play in New York, across the country, and internationally.
  • Write coverage of local new musicals and plays.
