Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the County Engineer, responsible for various civil engineering planning, design and review for street and drainage improvements to also include Pollution Abatement Plans (WPAP) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SW3P), detailed hydrologic/hydraulic studies and subdivision plans, plats, construction plans and site development plans to ascertain compliance.
  • Provides civil engineering designs for street and drainage improvements
  • Inspects road and drainage construction
  • Produces detailed engineering drawings and reports for the Pollution Abatement Plans (WPAP) and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SW3P) to control potential pollution activities associated with street and drainage construction and/or improvements
  • Produces detailed hydrologic/hydraulic studies that include floodplain analysis, detention pond and storm sewer design/analysis and culvert/bridge analysis
  • Provides review of subdivision plans, plats, construction plans and site development plans to ascertain their compliance with the County's Subdivision Regulations
  • Assists, and answers questions from, field crews and inspectors related to street and drainage construction activities
  • Communicates with other county employees, external agencies and the general public
  • Readily complies with departmental and county-wide policies and procedures
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions
  • Performs special duties as assigned
