Requirements

  • You should be studying towards a degree or Diploma in Health & Safety Management.
  • We are seeking a candidate who is currently looking for an internship placement and then interested in becoming an EHS Adviser with us on one of our projects in the UK once graduated.
  • Full driving license.
  • It is essential that you have a strong desire to build a career as an EHS Adviser working on large construction projects.
  • Showcase initiative, a can do demeanour and an openness to learn.
  • Some knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation pertaining to large construction projects including legislation applicable to both offshore and onshore operations is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is more desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO45001, ISO14001 is desirable.
  • An Understanding of the EHS arrangements for Principal Contractor on projects where the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations apply is also desirable.
  • The role will be based on various construction sites. You will rotate across different sites throughout the UK, shadowing members of the EHS team. This will require regular visits and time spent in support of the site. It will also include attendance at various internal project and EHS meetings as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in understanding and implementing the EHS requirements of the Business Management System.
  • Conducting EHS Inspections.
  • Produce documentation such as the Construction Phase Plan, Traffic Management Plan, Local Emergency Response Plan etc. to a template and review ongoing updates.
  • Compile monthly reports and undertake investigations throughout the construction/installation phase, commissioning phase and project closure phase.
  • Review event data for trends and ongoing initiatives to improve overall EHS related performance.
  • You will take a central role in collating information and data within the team, assisting with the implementation of the incident reporting software, ensuring that incidents are closed out in a timely manner and sharing best practice.
