Requirements

  • Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, botany, wildlife, or related degree from an accredited program with at least one year of post-secondary education.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience Preferred
  • Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Specific assignments and project work vary depending on the market segments. Please see below for information on each market:
  • Environmental Studies:
  • Our Environmental Planner/Interns conduct environmental and siting studies supporting the development of environmental assessments and impact statements pursuant to reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or Certificates of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) per state Public Utility Commission (PUC) requirements. Tasks include data recording, analysis, and report preparation supporting various types of projects, including high-voltage transmission line routing, roadways, airports, or other facilities requiring federal or state authorization. Working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems preferred.
  • Natural Resources:
  • Our Natural Resource Interns are responsible for performing tasks associated with natural resource studies. Responsibilities include assisting with wetland delineations and protected species field studies in a variety of vibrant locales, field data collection, GIS analysis, and preparation of deliverables such as survey reports, dataforms, and desktop reviews. All other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, Power Point presentation.
  • Assist with responses to general questions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to concerns.
  • Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
  • All other duties as assigned.
