What is the duration of the internship?
The internship lasts for 18 months.
When do the internship positions start?
One position starts in September/October 2025 and the other in November/December 2025.
Is this internship part of any recognized program?
Yes, it is part of the BEVA Recognised Internship Scheme.
What kind of team will the intern be working with?
The intern will work with a team of 4 or 5 hospital interns and an experienced team of equine vets, including 9 Diploma holders with various specialisms.
How are out-of-hours duties scheduled?
Out-of-hours hospital duties will be shared equally on a 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 rota, depending on the time of year.
What support is available for interns during out-of-hours shifts?
During out-of-hours shifts, interns will be supported by two nurses/patient care assistants as well as a senior medicine clinician and surgeon.
Are new graduates eligible to apply for this internship?
Yes, new graduates are welcome to apply.
What qualifications must applicants have?
Applicants should be eligible for registration with the RCVS.
