Responsibilities

  • Continue work to inventory and catalogue the Film/Video Studio collection, which includes approximately 500 works made by approximately 350 artists and filmmakers. This work may include duties such as:
  • Research and document copyright/permissions for holdings (and contact artists to discuss permissions as needed)
  • Watch individual works, research directors and artists for creation of administrative and descriptive metadata
  • Write descriptions of individual works and collect biographical information on artists, screening histories, and residency details for a public-facing catalogue.
  • Participate in specific projects related to archival processing, digitization metadata, digital asset management, institutional records retention, and more under the direction of the Wex Archivist and Film/Video Studio Director
  • Assist with creating and populating a system to organize and build the archive of correspondence between professional artists and filmmakers, which may include conducting intro/exit interviews about their project and their residency experience
