  • A University student looking to fill their placement year in industry
  • A strong interest in Finance and appetite to learn more
  • Enjoys working in a fast pace, reactive environment.
  • A proven ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Basic skills in Excel preferred, but not essential
  • A high standard of accurac with financial and statistical data.
  • An ability to determine insightful observations in detail for management attention.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • An ability to work independently and to take initiative
  • Good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Driven and proactive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Extracting & interpreting data to measure the success of the business
  • Work on consolidating data inputs and reporting to support re-forecasts and building new budgets.
  • Playing a key part in planning & delivering monthly actuals and reforecasting; including setting up monthly meetings, posting accruals and prepayments, analysing variances between actuals and forecasts & maintaining all forecast & cost schedules
  • Learn about other areas of Finance and gain a basic understanding of specific areas of the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, such as CapEx and Cash.
  • Supporting the Finance team on current initiatives
  • Producing weekly and monthly reporting in a timely and accurate manner and updating the Finance Manager on key highlights and trends
  • You will learn to use our integrated Finance systems and reporting tools (such as Power BI and Alteryx), and use these in practice to make informed data-driven decisions and improve processes where possible.
  • Understanding of margin, intake, and stock from a commercial finance perspective.
  • Working closely with the business to forecast and track accurately.
  • Liaising with other Finance teams, to ensure a collaborative approach towards business planning and forecasting.
  • Any other ad hoc analysis
