Description
- AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern - Structural to be based in Orange, CA.
Requirements
- Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering and the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
- Candidates must have completed 3 years of study in their program.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree focus on structural engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Basic knowledge of CADD and industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and structural modeling).
- Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Completion of introductory coursework by the start of this internship related to reinforced concrete design and steel design.

Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed observations of structures in the field to determine conformance with structural drawings.
- Review and respond to RFIs and submittals with your peers, supervisors, clients, and contractors.
- Analyze and model structures using hand calculations and an array of computer software including, but not limited to:
- Microsoft Excel.
- MathCAD Prime.
- SAP2000.
- Collaborate with CAD technicians to produce drawing sheets suitable for construction
