Requirements

  • Applicants will be on target to achieve a minimum of 2:2 honours degree level in a Computing Subject.
  • In order to be eligible to complete a 12 Month Industrial Placement commencing July 2025, you must be in your penultimate year of study unless enrolled in an integrated master’s program.
  • You will be motivated, hard-working, and will embrace change.
  • You will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with people in Caterpillar facilities worldwide and we are looking for you to bring fresh, innovative ideas to solve complex technical problems.
  • You will be a fully involved team member with responsibility and accountability for key project deliverables.
  • You will be supported by IT professionals who have multiple years of experience in IT Project Management, Systems Design and Business Analysis as well as receiving appropriate training to gain a wider industry knowledge to perform the role expected.

Responsibilities

  • As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple IT projects across multiple business functions, for example within Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Sales and Aftermarket groups.
  • The role will involve you having responsibility for gathering requirements, analysis, functional design, development specifications and testing.
  • As part of this project team, you may be called upon to work with people across the globe as the business functions serve CAT facilities in the UK, US, China, Brazil, Mexico and India.
  • Requirement to provide operational support across multiple globally used applications using ITIL processes including incident, problem and change management.
