What is the purpose of the SkillBridge Program?
The SkillBridge Program provides transitioning U.S. military service members with training and real-world experience to help them transition to civilian careers.
Who is eligible to apply for this Installation Technician position?
This position is exclusively open to active duty service members who are approved for SkillBridge participation.
What type of training will I receive during the program?
You will receive on-the-job training, hands-on experience, and access to online resources related to AV project delivery and coordination.
Is this position paid?
This is an unpaid internship; however, participants will continue to receive military pay and benefits during the training period.
What are the main responsibilities of this role?
Responsibilities include assisting with cable pulls and equipment installation, learning to interpret schematics, participating in field activities, and supporting project documentation.
Are there any specific skills or experiences required for this role?
You should have a strong interest in technical fieldwork, be comfortable using hand and power tools, and have a valid Driver’s License. A High School Diploma or equivalent is also required.
Will I have the opportunity to be considered for a full-time role after the internship?
Yes, there is potential to be considered for a full-time role following the successful completion of the program.
How long is the training program?
The training program lasts for 4 weeks, totaling 160 hours.
What will I gain from participating in this training?
Participants will gain exposure to the technology industry, hands-on experience, training support from senior technicians, and the opportunity to build a foundation for future employment in AV.
Do I need any formal education in electronics or IT to apply?
While a background or formal education in electronics, IT, or AV is a "nice-to-have," it is not a requirement to apply for this position.
