What is the duration of the internship?
The internship project is designed for 8-12 weeks.
What are the educational requirements for the intern position?
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related fields as a rising junior or senior; current Master's or PhD students are also eligible.
Is there a GPA requirement for this internship?
Yes, candidates must have a GPA of at least 3.0.
What laboratory skills are required for this position?
Proficiency in laboratory skills including pipetting, use of balance, volumetric glassware, making solutions, and laboratory safety awareness is required.
Where will the intern be working?
The role is lab-based, and the intern will be working at the RTP office 5 days per week.
Will the intern receive training during their tenure?
Yes, the intern will be trained on how to design and execute experiments using liquid chromatography – mass spectroscopy (LC-MS).
What software proficiency is required for the internship?
Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
What will the intern be doing at the end of the internship?
The intern will learn how to interpret complex data and generate summary tables for a presentation to management summarizing their work at the conclusion of their internship.
Are third-party agencies allowed to submit candidates for this position?
